Bobbie M. Mims

Bobbie M. Mims, 83, of West Market Street, Athens, AL, died Saturday, March 17, 2007, at Athens Convalescent Center.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 19, at 2 p.m. at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Bailey officiating. Burial was in the Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore, AL with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge.

Bobbie was born February 18, 1924, to Robert Henry and Lillian Doris Mabry in Springfield, TN. She was married for 48 years to Brown Mims and they resided on Mims Street in Ardmore for most of that time. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Brown Mims; and a son, Wayne Mims.

Survivors include one son, Lynn and wife Terry Mims of Toney, AL; daughter-in-law, Betty Mims of Athens, AL; brother, Roy Mabry of Dover, TN; sisters, Ruth Moon of Burns, TN, and Doris Baggett of Greenville, TN; grandchildren, Jonathan Mims and Liza Abbott of Birmingham, AL; and two great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Nolan.


Bobby J. Rogers

Bobby J. Rogers, 69, of Pulaski, TN, died Sunday, March 11, 2007, at NHC of Pulaski.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 14, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Dryden and Bro. Terrell Pitts officiating. Burial was in the Hasting Cemetery in Ardmore, AL, with full military honors. Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Bobby J. Rogers served in the Tennessee National Guard and was a heavy equipment operator. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Luke Rogers and Ruby Harris Rogers; and a brother, James “Pete” Rogers.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Simpson Rogers of Pulaski; daughter, Lisa Jackson and husband John of Union Springs, AL; sons, Randy Rogers and wife Kim of Elkton, TN, Steve Rogers and wife Tammy of Ardmore, AL; grandchildren, Blake Rogers, Kailee Rogers, Kristen Jackson, Johnny Jackson, Katelyn Jackson, Britney Smith; sisters, Shirley Hall and husband Douglas of Lynchburg, TN, and Estelle Hobbs and husband Wayne of Ardmore, AL; brother, Donald Rogers and wife Betty of Shelbyville, TN.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.


Doris L. Kiddey

Doris L. Kiddey, 77, of Mt. Washington, KY, formerly of Ardmore, TN, died Thursday, March 8, 2007.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, March 14, at the Fern Creek United Methodist Church. Inurnment followed at Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. Kiddey was a retired bank teller and a member of Fern Creek United Methodist Church, Sphinx Chapter 130 O.H.S. in New Jersey, Louisville Girl’s high Alumni Association, Fern Creek Woman’s Club, North Waterson Trail Homemakers and 1st Armoured Division Association Louisville Chapter Auxiliary. While she was a resident of Ardmore, she volunteered at the Ardmore Public Library.

Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Cooley O’Brien; stepsons, Nicholas and Michael Kiddey; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Thelma Ley.
